A new direction for Diane

Business West Wyalong member and former Vice Chairperson Diane Nicholson has closed the doors for the last time at The Cottage Health Food Shop. The business had run for 15 years in West Wyalong and will be missed by many. Most of all we will miss the bright, lighthearted personality and knowledge of Diane herself. For those who know how good Diane's skills are in the area of massage there is new hope, she will be massaging at the Alder Bowen Clinic on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

"Hats at Pats"

Pat Kearins' Menswear will be sadly missed, its being one of the best shops in Main Street for the last 64 years. The late Pat Kearins opened the doors for the first time in 1947, eventually passing the business to his son Bernie (pictured right). Bernie is often seen on a fine horse with an equally fine Akubra. Bernie was a leading light in the organisation of West Wyalong's long running Christmas Carnival. As we heard at our Business West Wyalong AGM last year. We will keep the Carnival going (December 9th 2011) but now that Bernie has sold his business, the men of West Wyalong will miss his advice on the cut of a suit and the look of a hat.

Soudens Furnishings takes pride in it's Main Street frontage

Asthetic considerations are everything to a business that seeks to find some of the best furniture available. Pictured below, the workman (a real artist with the tiles) completes a new slope to the automatic glass doors. The Bland Shire Council has also embarked on planning a gradual Main Street upgrade. Consulting closely with Business West Wyalong they outlined proposals and gathered some enthusiastic feedback from our membership at our monthly meeting in August.
