September Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th 2011 West Wyalong Art on Main. – A very unusual art and photography exhibition taking Russell Drysdale's famous painting of 1949 'West Wyalong' (detail shown above) as it's inspiration, artists and photographers have been invited to submit works based on Main St. This promises to be a rich theme for the show which runs at 172 Main Street. Open Thurs - Sat 10am to 4pm and Sun 10am - 12noon. The opening on Friday night (16th) is by Lou Klepac, Art Historian and author of a recent and beautiful book on Drysdale. September Saturday 24th 2011 Trans Tasman Three Sheep Trial. This inaugural event takes place at the Barmedman Showground. The trial is being conducted over exactly the same type of course used for the annual New Zeland vs Australia Test. Camping is available on the showground $10

October Saturday 8th, 2011 Mirool Silo Kick Challenge awarded 'Event of the Year' 2009 by Bland Shire Council. Don't miss this crazy and unique event in which Australian Rules fans congregate to compete in the $1000 prize for kicking a football over the 32 metre grain silos situated opposite the wonderful old pub.
